Reading, the way you always imagined it
Create one-of-a-kind experiences as you read your favorite books: Ridio illustrates their characters, places and scenes in whatever art style you choose.
How it works
From page to picture, in three steps.
Open your book
Add a book from your device, or pick one from our library. Nothing to sync — Ridio reads it directly.
Ridio follows the story
As you read, it identifies characters, places and each page's most visual moments.
Every moment, an illustration
It generates images consistent with what it already knows about the book, in the style you pick.
Everything your book deserves
Ridio doesn't replace your imagination — it keeps it company.
Characters with a face of their own
Every character keeps a consistent look every time they appear.
A map of every relationship
See how your characters connect — alliances, rivalries and family ties, at a glance.
Places that come alive
The story's settings get illustrated so you can picture them more clearly.
“The sea roared beneath the storm as Elena ran toward the lighthouse.”
Automatic standout scenes
Each page is scanned for its most visual moments, ready to illustrate with one tap.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I download Ridio?
Ridio is now available free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
What book formats does it support?
EPUB files, and PDFs with digital text (scanned PDFs aren't supported yet). We're exploring more formats.
Where do I get books?
You can use your own DRM-free purchases (EPUB or PDF) or public-domain books (for example from Project Gutenberg or Standard Ebooks). Books bought from a DRM-locked store, like Kindle, aren't supported yet.
Are my books and data safe?
Your library and reading progress are stored on your own device. To generate characters, scenes and illustrations, the text fragments you read are securely processed with AI — we never share your library with third parties.
Do I need an internet connection?
Reading and any illustrations already generated work offline. Generating new content — characters, scenes or illustrations — needs a connection.
How much does it cost?
Ridio is free to download and reading is free. AI illustrations are unlocked with an optional subscription.
